$1,000 Grant-in-Aid Annual Scholarship Program

This grant-in-aid is open to students who reside in Bosler Memorial Library’s service area:

  • Carlisle Borough
  • Dickinson Township - North of Rt. 174
  • Lower Frankford Township
  • Middlesex Township
  • North Middleton
  • South Middleton Township - North of Rt. 174
  • Upper Frankford Township
  • West Pennsboro Township – East of Grahams Wood Road

Who May Apply:
Students who reside in one of the above townships, May 2015 Graduating High School students who are enrolled in an accredited college, or students who are currently enrolled in an accredited college with a 3.0 GPA, majoring in Library Science, Education, Journalism, Communications, or English. The applicant must be registered for at least 12 credits to be considered. Family members of the Friends Board or Board of Trustees of Bosler Memorial Library are not eligible for this grant.

At the May meeting of Friends of Bosler Memorial Library we were pleased to honor two deserving students from our area. We presented Grant-in-Aid Awards to Victoria Keener from Big Spring High School and Christian Pavlovich from Carlisle High School.

Victoria is majoring in Elementary Education and hopes to teach Gifted Students someday. She will attend Alvernia University after graduation. She has held 4 internships in the educational area during High School, and hopes to continue by pursuing additional internships while she is in College. She is in the Gifted Program and has completed two Honors Courses. She also is a mentor to incoming freshman, and helped establish a Club for Student's Rights where became an officer in the organization as she continued to pursue her studies.

Christian is attending Messiah College in the Fall where he plans to earn a Film Degree. He has been studying Broadcasting and Film in High School. He has been involved in athletics, earning letters in Soccer and Track and Field and he placed in the Javelin competitions in District meets. He also represented his High School at the State Video Competition. He is active in his church where he is a member of the Media Ministry Team. He's a member of National Honor Society. His lifelong goal is to someday produce Christian Films.
